The Trustees of Reservations is developing a state-of-the-art administrative and resource facility known as the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, MA, which will be dedicated to the advancement of land conservation, ecological and historic resource protection, education and interpretation. The existing building renovation and proposed expansion will contain approximately 21,000 square feet and include office space for 38 staff members, a 150-seat auditorium/conference facility, and storage for historic documents and artifacts. The Center will exemplify green building design by incorporating the latest technologies for sustainable site and building construction, and will implement design standards set by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program. Beals and Thomas has provided The Trustees of Reservations with coordination of site design and permitting, preparation of a submission package to ensure compliance with various state and local regulations, civil engineering and drainage design, construction documentation, and client representation at regulatory meetings and hearings. Beals and Thomas will also assist the project team with the LEED certification and construction administration.
